Race Dates & History

Silverstone racetrack is a major racing circuit located near the Northamptonshire villages of Silverstone and Whittlebury. Silverstone was the first Grand Prix, hosting the inaugural formula 1 World Championship in May 1950. Silverstone is known as Round 12 of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix.

The Silverstone circuit has experienced several layout changes over the years but continues to be known as one of the fastest and flattest circuits in the program.

Accessibility

Silverstone trace track is located about 1.5 hours outside of London and can easily be accessed by train, car or bus. Train access is via 3 different arrival stations: Banbury, Milton Keynes and Northhampton.

Accommodation

Accommodation options are plentiful in the towns surrounding Silverstone. Although it is also worth noting that that prices increase more than 1000% from normal weekends in comparison to the weekend hosting the British Grand Prix. It is best to book in advance and to check surrounding cities. A variety of options are on offer from basic camp sites all the way to sprawling private residences showcasing all the amenities you could ever dream to need for the weekend.
